Display options
The Marker options button (gear icon) opens a panel where you control how the map and its markers look. Set your preferences and click Save to keep them.
Marker colours by ship type
You can give each ship type its own marker colour, so the types stand out on the map:
- Passenger ships
- Cargo ships
- Tankers
- Pilot ships
- Pleasure craft
- Fishing ships
- A default colour for everything else
For each type, pick a colour from the list (Cyan, Dark blue, Green, Grey, Light blue, Magenta, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Yellow) or leave it on Default.
Marker behaviour
Toggle switches let you fine-tune the markers:
- Shape always on — always draw the vessel's shape (not just a dot).
- Name always on — always show vessel names next to the markers.
- Only color on sailing — apply the type colour only to vessels that are under way.
- Use large pop-up — open the larger, more detailed vessel pop-up.
- Show historic track — draw a vessel's recent track when you select it.
- Use OpenSeaMap — overlay the OpenSeaMap nautical chart layer.
Saving
Click Save at the bottom of the panel. Your choices are stored against your account, so the map looks the same the next time you open it.
