Display options

The Marker options button (gear icon) opens a panel where you control how the map and its markers look. Set your preferences and click Save to keep them.

Marker colours by ship type​

You can give each ship type its own marker colour, so the types stand out on the map:

  • Passenger ships
  • Cargo ships
  • Tankers
  • Pilot ships
  • Pleasure craft
  • Fishing ships
  • A default colour for everything else

For each type, pick a colour from the list (Cyan, Dark blue, Green, Grey, Light blue, Magenta, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Yellow) or leave it on Default.

Marker behaviour​

Toggle switches let you fine-tune the markers:

  • Shape always on — always draw the vessel's shape (not just a dot).
  • Name always on — always show vessel names next to the markers.
  • Only color on sailing — apply the type colour only to vessels that are under way.
  • Use large pop-up — open the larger, more detailed vessel pop-up.
  • Show historic track — draw a vessel's recent track when you select it.
  • Use OpenSeaMap — overlay the OpenSeaMap nautical chart layer.

Saving​

Click Save at the bottom of the panel. Your choices are stored against your account, so the map looks the same the next time you open it.
