Companies
The Companies module is the central place in SHIPM8 where you manage all your business relations. Each company record can hold contact persons, postal and communication addresses, financial settings, departments, tasks, documents, messages, and notes — everything in one place.
What you can do
- Browse and search your full list of companies.
- Create new company records and fill in core details at creation time.
- Open a company to view and edit its addresses, contacts, financial information, and departments.
- Link tasks, documents, messages, and notes to a company.
- Invite a company to the SHIPM8 Customer Portal (if your role includes that permission).
Getting to the Companies module
Click Companies in the left-hand navigation sidebar. This takes you directly to the Companies overview, where all your companies are listed.
The Companies entry is only visible in the sidebar when your user role includes access to the Companies module. If you cannot see it, contact your administrator.

The Contacts page (/companies/contacts) lists contacts across all companies and requires you to type a search term before results are shown. You can reach it from the sidebar when the menu item is available for your role.
