Vessel details

Open a vessel from the overview to see its details screen. It gathers everything SHIPM8 knows about the ship in one place.

The main panel

• Vessel details — the ship's name, identifiers (call sign, IMO, MMSI, ENI, fishery number), flag, ship type, and its dimensions (length, width, GT, DWT, max draft). A photo is shown when one is available.
• Tags — any labels applied to the vessel. See Tags.
• Extra fields — your own added information, grouped under headings. See Custom fields.

The side panel

• Current location — a small map showing where the vessel is now (when position data is available).
• Track — the vessel's recent track.
• Port visits — a list of the vessel's most recent port visits. Click one to open it, or use more port visits to see the full history (requires the port-visits permission).
• Files — documents attached to the vessel.

Actions

Depending on your permissions and whether it's one of your own vessels, the header and panel offer:

• Edit — change the vessel (your own vessels only). See Edit or delete a vessel.
• My fleet (star) — add the vessel to a fleet group on the map.
• Ship tags — add or change tags.
• Add attribute — add an extra field.
• Original — for one of your own vessels that's based on a shared one, jump to the shared original.
