Add a vessel

If a ship your organisation needs isn't in the shared data, you can add it yourself. On the Vessels overview, click New, fill in the form, and click Save. You need the Create ships permission; if you don't see the New button, ask your administrator.

The form

Two fields are required (marked with a red asterisk):

  • Name (required) — the vessel's name.
  • Status (required) — the vessel's status.
  • Ship type (required) — pick the type from the picker.
  • Flag (required) — the vessel's flag state.

The rest are optional identifiers and dimensions:

  • Call sign, MMSI, IMO, ENI, Fishery number
  • Max draft, Length, Width, GT, DWT

Fill in what you know — you can always add more later.

Save

Click Save. The vessel is added and opens like any other, ready for you to tag it or add extra fields.

tip

Search the existing vessels first — most ships are already in the shared data, so you rarely need to add one. Adding a duplicate just creates extra upkeep.
