Edit or delete a vessel

You can change or remove the vessels your own organisation added. Vessels from the shared maritime data can't be edited or deleted — but you can still tag them and add extra fields.

Edit a vessel

Open one of your own vessels and click Edit on its details. The same form you used to add it opens, so you can correct the name, identifiers, dimensions, ship type, flag, and status. Click Save.

The Edit button only appears for vessels your organisation created. If it isn't there, the vessel comes from the shared data and its core details are read-only.

Delete a vessel

Open one of your own vessels, open the header overflow menu (the ⋮ button), and choose Delete.

caution

Deleting removes the vessel from your organisation. If a vessel is just out of use, consider changing its status instead of deleting it, so its history stays intact.

Editing the shared, core details isn't possible for shared vessels — that's expected. Your own tags and extra fields on any vessel are always yours to change.
